Two mobile tourist informants will walk around Sitges to personally assist visitors

The service has become a useful tool for assisting tourists in situ and improving the quality of the tourist experience.

For the second year in a row, the Councillor's Office for Tourism has launched a mobile tourist informant service, an initiative designed to enhance direct assistance for visitors. These workers walk around the busiest parts of Sitges to answer questions and provide information to tourists who need them. The goal is to improve visitors’ experience by offering a more accessible, user-friendly and effective service.

The professionals can be identified by their corporate blue polo shirts, and for the first time this year they will have a mobile banner that will significantly boost their visibility. The two informants will walk around the most emblematic spots, like El Baluard, Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla church, City Council and La Fragata beach, adapting their routes to tourist flows.

July ended with a total of 517 inquiries, most of them at weekends. The information requested the most was related to the heritage, museums, beaches, shopping and restaurants. This figure shows the popularity of an accessible service that allows visitors and tourists to access quality information outside the usual circuits. International tourists approach the informants the most often, especially those from France, the United States, Argentina, the United Kingdom and Italy.

The service operates seven days a week from 10 am to 2 pm, and it will remain operating until 15 October. This initiative is part of the municipal strategy to improve tourist service quality, provide guidance and enhance visitors’ experience, especially in areas of keen historical and heritage interest.
